Materials must be factual and must represent the subject matter in a fair and balanced way. Materials may not contain strong promotional elements. The authorship of the materials must always be obvious and clear to the visitor of the NFC Forum website and the member website.

(C) Photos and Multimedia

Photos, videos, animations, etc. shall show products/services where NFC Technology is used, or illustrate end-user/consumer life with NFC. Headers and/or trailers with company logos, names and trademarks are OK. The main content should not be too promotional, and logos or trademarks should be outside of the main focus. Links to resources on member Web sites can be included, provided that links to promotional materials are clearly labelled as promotional. Linked pages may not require visitors to enter any personal information.

(D) Brochures/Datasheets

Product brochures or other company collateral are not allowed.

For the use of member-created materials, the following rules apply in addition to the criteria listed above:

A. By providing material to the NFC Forum, the member:

  1. warrants that it has the right to publish this information, including the consent of all the other owners of copyright (if any) that are included in the works
  2. agrees that the NFC Forum may modify the materials to fit the NFC Forum website (e.g., change size, convert to other file formats, …). However, the Forum may not crop images without member permission.

B. If member-created content is published on the NFC Forum website, the NFC Forum must:

  1. retain the copyright note of the member-created material (if included in the material, e.g., as part of the text or as EXIF of IPTC data of an image)
  2. remove the content or link from the website at the request of the member within a reasonable period of time

If a member agrees that certain member-created content is used as a element in the basic design of the website, such member waives the above-mentioned rights to (i) have his copyright notice included in the final materials and (ii) have the content removed from the website upon request.

C. NFC Forum reserves the right to remove the member-created material at any time. Forum staff will determine appropriateness of member contributions and will consult with the Marketing Communication Working Group if questions arise. Reasons for removing member-created content (including links to member-websites) may include, but are not limited to:

  1. company ceases to be a member in good standing
  2. content is not new (or no longer new)
  3. content does not comply with this policy (or any update thereof)
  4. member changes the content of the target page of a link
  5. doubt about the factual accuracy of the content
  6. doubt about the rightful use of third party trademarks or copyrighted material

D. All links (hyperlinks) to content on member websites must be deep-links (directly to the page of the respective press release text, article or significant content), and may not be links only to the homepage or to the ‘news’-page of the member. (It is OK to load the normal frameset of the member company website around the deep-linked content.) All links to member websites must open in a new tab or window of the web browser. The authorship of the material must always be obvious and clear to the visitor of the member website (content may not mimic the look and feel of the NFC Forum website or NFC Forum created materials).
