Koichi Tagawa is the General Manager of Global Standards and Industry Relations Department that is in charge of technology standards and technology industry relations of the FeliCa Business. Since 2002, he has supported the popularization of NFC and FeliCa from the standardization point of view. He actively contributed to the establishment of the NFC Forum, holding the position of Vice-Chairman from the start of the Forum in 2004 until becoming Chairman in September 2008. He enthusiastically continues to contribute to the enhancement of the NFC ecosystem throughout the contactless application industry.
Mohamed Awad is Director, Product Marketing, Mobile and Wireless at Broadcom Corporation. At Broadcom, Mohamed is responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s NFC offerings. Prior to joining Broadcom, Mohamed co-founded Ember Europe, where he brought ZigBee to the EMEA region, and served as a director on the ZigBee Alliance board. He has also held various marketing, business development and engineering management roles for several semiconductor and networking companies, including Avici Systems, Lucent Technologies, and Nortel Networks. Mohamed holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Data Communications from the University of Massachusetts.
Frank Dawidowsky is Senior Engineer at the European Technology Center of Sony Corporation, located in Stuttgart, Germany. Frank has been active in the NFC Forum since its inception. He has more than 8 years of experience in standardization and has been an active contributor in a number of specification organizations and industry associations, including ETSI and the Wi-Fi Alliance.
Laurent Sourgen is currently director of Strategic R&D programs for Microcontrollers, Memories & Secure Group within STMicroelectronics, and he is also involved in strategic partnerships. After graduating in Electronic Engineering, he started working with silicon integrated circuits. Over the past 20 years, he has been in charge of the team developing smartcard and other secured integrated circuits, where he designed and supervised work for different secure contact and contactless product generations. With good knowledge in related technologies and architectures, he is also involved in various cooperative R&D programs as project leader and expert. He represents STMicroelectronics in different professional organizations such as NFC Forum and Eurosmart.
Paula Hunter has a deep and broad background in technology association leadership, management, marketing, operations, and business development. Before joining the NFC Forum, she served for several years as Executive Director of the Outercurve Foundation, a non-profit foundation with the mission of enabling the exchange of code and understanding among software companies and open source communities. Prior to Outercurve, she was Director of Operations for the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO), and director of worldwide marketing and business development for the Open Source Development Labs (OSDL), where she was instrumental in driving membership growth to increase industry awareness of OSDL programs. Ms. Hunter's experience also includes key roles in several technology companies, ranging from small start-ups to large multi-national corporations.
