2006-07 OfficersChairman: Christophe Duverne, NXP SemiconductorsChristophe Duverne is Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Identification business within NXP Semiconductors, the newly independent semiconductor company founded by Philips. In this role, he is responsible for the global business management from strategy to R&D, industry & supply chain and marketing for the Identification business. Markets include radio frequency identification (RFID), smart cards, egovernment and near field communication (NFC). Christophe has more than 15 years experience, principally in the electronics industry, having held a number of senior international management positions in leading technology companies in Europe and Asia Pacific. Vice Chairman: Koichi Tagawa, SonyKoichi Tagawa leads the Standards and Partnership Department in Sony Headquarters, as Senior General Manager of the group. The group is responsible for internal coordination and participation in industry standards activities, where NFC is one of the most important activities. Koichi also serves as a vice-chairman of the DVD Forum Steering Committee, as well as a Director on the Board of the DVD Copy Control Association. Vice Chairman: Gerhard Romen, NokiaGerhard Romen is Head of NFC Market Development, Nokia. Mr. Romen has 20 years' experience in the IT / software industries. Prior to joining Nokia in 1999, he was VP for Borland International, and has held senior management positions with Sybase and SoftSwitch Inc. He started his career in application development at Data Organisation Services, Germany. Secretary and Treasurer: Martin Bührlen, NXP SemiconductorsMartin Bührlen is Senior Manager Marketing Programs, Market Sector Smart Cards, at NXP Semiconductors and serves as Secretary and Treasurer of the NFC Forum. With more than 15 years of experience in the semiconductors industry, he has held several engineering, marketing and communications positions for identification technologies such as smart cards, RFID and NFC.
